The portuguese baritone and violinist Francisco Henriques started his musical education from a very young age in Lisbon. Since then, he has become a notable up and coming musician, taking part on multiple concert and opera productions throughout Europe. Praised in equal parts for his “powerful” and “lyrical” baritone quality, Francisco distinguishes himself as a singer due to his deeply emotional and reflected approach to all repertoire.
Aiming to explore all different facets of music and focusing on an increasing demand for versatility, he has attained a remarkable number of degrees. Most notable among them are his Master’s in education at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (2020) and his two Master’s in baroque violin performance (2023) and in Classical Singing at Hochschule für Künste Bremen (2026).
Concerts have taken him as a violinist and a singer to various cities in Portugal, Germany as well as to France, Poland and Denmark. In June 2024, he won the Bremen University of the Arts 1st Prize with his Duo du Départ and was also a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation. Previously, he was awarded first prize at the Young Musician's Competition in Portugal in 2017 with his trio Adamastor and recorded a CD with works ranging from Joseph Haydn to Ernest Chausson.
